Meet Our Yoga Instructors

Angelique Lele

Angelique Lele

Angelique is a yoga teacher, actor, and dancer. She received her 200hr certificate in 2007 at the Center for Yoga in Michigan with Jonny Kest and has been teaching ever since. She moved to Minneapolis in 2008, began teaching a few classes at Pratt Community Ed. and built a small but loyal family of students from there. Though a trapeze accident paralyzed her and landed her in a wheelchair in 2012, she refused to slow down, she resumed teaching yoga within 2 months and it helped her move forward in her recovery as did performing again through the world of integrative dance a year and a half later. Named Ms. Wheelchair Minnesota 2015, she’s also been working to be an advocate for the disabled community. She dreams of a completely accessible world where the population at large sees those with disabilities as the whole, attractive, powerful, sexual beings we are!

Kelly Shay

Kelly Shay

Kelly Shay discovered an authentic practice where movement and breath connected with spirit in 2002 when in college studying family social science, youth studies, theater, and music production. Yoga combined elements of her Native American spiritual upbringing and her athletic prowess of dance and gymnastics. From the Great Plains to western Africa and the Caribbean to over a decade of service throughout her Twin Cities community, she has been focusing on enriching the lives of others through environmental sustainability, youth and family work, community engagement, artistic expression, and mind/body wellness. Kelly began teaching yoga in 2013 after giving birth to her second daughter. A proud mama warrior, she has since then begun leading yoga classes for pregnant women, mamas + babies, children of all ages, families, and adults. Most recently she has begun developing workshops and retreats for girls, women, and families and has been trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and used in her work with teen parents. Through work in schools, community centers, farms, and yoga studios she blends breathwork and meditation with chanting, music, and fluid movement in a compassionate and healing way. I am divinely guided, I trust my instincts, and I surrender to what this lifetime has to teach, are common themes in her classes. Her classes offer a sacred space where every-body can feel at home.
